SOULGATE: AN INSTALLATION

STATEMENT OF INTENT
The focus of this installation is to serve as a search to an answer of one of the many questions lingering people's lives.
The question is: How has their religious upbringing influenced their lifes thus preventing or allowing them to move forward in some aspects of their life?

The proposed installation will serve as an aid to reflection of people’s lives via a creative artistic writing process. The process begins at the moment the user decides to think about their life and plasters their thoughts on paper.

WHY? My formative years were spent in elite private schools in a bustling South American city, where the development of inquisitive thinking (and of hormones) was, more often than not, quieted by the imposition of stern attitudes about life, family, humanity, and cradled by a nest of angelic beliefs about the world, about people, about Catholicism as the main – if not the only - way to survive.
